NCSOFT and ArenaNet have announced that a brand new Guild Wars 2 content update titled ”The Secret of Southsun” will be going live next week, extending the game’s Living Story, adding a new mini-game, and more.
The update is set to go live May 14 and extends the game’s Living Story, which has been running since April. The Secret of Southsun also introduces a new mini-game and new traps in World vs. World.
“The merchants and traders of The Consortium have given shelter to refugees driven from their lands by the Molten Alliance, but many of these new arrivals feel more like prisoners than guests,” ArenaNet explains. “With the new settlers on the verge of rioting and someone—or something—driving the local wildlife to new heights of aggression, it’s up to you and Lionguard Inspector Kiel to quell the violence and discover the Secret of Southsun!”
A rundown of the update’s features can be found below:
- New Crab Toss Game: In this instanced mini-game, players can score points by capturing a hermit crab and withstanding karka attacks.
- Traps Introduced in WvW: Purchase traps that remove supply from enemy players from the new Traps and Tricks Outfitters on each WvW map.
- Limited Custom WvW Features: ArenaNet has improved the award system for World XP to World vs. World players. Gain rewards for a much wider range of activities in the Mists – everything from destroying siege weapons, repairing walls, escort missions and more.
- The End of Culling in the Living World: By removing the limit on the number of characters you can see in the Living World, players will experience an epic feel of exploring through a fully-populated world.
