Guillermo del Toro’s InSANE Project Cancelled
Posted on August 6, 2012 AT 04:24pm

It’s been a long-running question: Is filmmaker Guillermo del Toro’s video game project InSANE still coming or not? Today, THQ has answered that question, and it isn’t a good answer.
In a conference call today, THQ president Jason Rubin broke the bad news (text transcribed by VG24/7):
“We have decided not to pursue further pre-production on Insane, and have returned all of our IP rights to Guillermo del Toro. By canceling these explorations outside of our core business, we feel we can improve focus on our core game portfolio, which remains unchanged.”
So, there you have it. It’s kind of a double-edged sword: Terrible to know that InSANE is for sure cancelled, but at least good to now have that uncertain wondering about its future over.
