THE BUZZ: Somebody forgot their broom, because it looks like the fighting game scene is about to get dusty again—thanks to the return of Guilty Gear.
EGM’s TAKE: Ever since Arc System Works acquired the right to Guilty Gear—the legendary 2D fighting franchise the team made before they broke off to create their own property, BlazBlue—fans everywhere have wondered what they would now do with the series.
Well, that picture is now a little clearer. Not only will Arc be bringing the most recent version of the game—Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus—to arcades, but the developer has also just announced that it will be hitting the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network as well. (Accent Core Plus was previously only released for the PS2, PSP, and Wii.)
Needless to say, hardcore Guilty Gear players everywhere now have a lot of reason to be excited. The return of the series, complete with online netplay? Consider how amazing of a job Arc has done with BlazBlue‘s net code, you know Guilty Gear is going to be equally sweet.
