THE BUZZ: Guinness World Records has decided that Call of Duty: Black Ops has the “best game ending ever.”

In order to come to this decision Guinness surveyed 13,000 people. ”This list recognises some of the greatest endings and hopefully will get gamers talking about what are their favourites and why,” the company said. The top 10 (Reverse Order for suspense):

• 10. Heavy Rain
• 9. Final Fantasy VII
• 8. Metal Gear Solid 4
• 7. Portal
• 6. Red Dead Redemption
• 5. God of War
• 4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
• 3. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
• 2. Halo: Reach
• 1. Call of Duty: Black Ops

EGM’s TAKE: Now we’re not one to knock a game that is one of the best selling of all time, but in no way, shape or form do we agree with Black Ops having the best ending ever. In our opinion it is simply a set piece infested, predictable, mid-range action movie. However, that’s just our opinion and we obviously weren’t part of the 13,000 who were asked. We feel that Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy VII should have been much higher. Metal Gear ended perfectly, and didn’t blow it’s own trumpet in the process.
