Daybreak has announced that a free expansion called Beyond Royale will be released for H1Z1: Battle Royale on PlayStation 4 next week alongside the arrival of Season 3.

This expansion is described as “the largest update in the history of H1Z1 on PS4″ and introduces two new game modes, Ranked Leaderboards, a new 100-tier Battle Pass, and various new features and improvements.

Following the update, players will be able to take part in FFA Deathmatch, in which fifty players drop into a small combat zone with instant respawns and a rotating arsenal of weaponry, and Training Grounds, which lets players experiment with various weapons before jumping into a match.

In addition to this, players will be getting attendance rewards, redesigned lobbies and an updated front-end UI, more than 200 new cosmetic items in the Season 3 Battle Pass, and exclusive challenges that will be available to players who unlock all 100 tiers of the new Battle Pass. The developer notes that PlayStation Plus subscribers will once again get an additional reward track with the Battle Pass.

The Beyond Royale expansion and Season 3 Battle Pass will be available on PlayStation 4 from February 21st.

H1Z1: Battle Royale is available now as a free download on PlayStation 4.
