Hackers Aim to Shut Down The War Z

Posted on January 4, 2013 AT 02:51am

The War Z has been the subject of several attacks from hackers who are aiming to take the controversial MMO offline, according to a studio representative.

Following the scandal of attempting to sell an incomplete version early via Steam the game has suffered several malicious attacks from hackers, including DDoS attacks. At the moment the game is still functioning. An incomplete version of the game was sold on Steam and marketing incorrectly, at the time Hammerpoint refused to acknowledge false marketing, but eventually Steam was forced to take the game down and offer refunds following several complaints.

Over the new year the developer issued an apology letter to fans which asked them to trust the team while things were sorted out.
