Hackers have been hitting Guild Wars 2 players hard over the last few days with various password reset scams and phishing attempts.

A large number of players are reporting receiving emails claiming that password reset requests have been made on their account when they made no such request. Several players have also lost their accounts to hackers as a result of these scams.

“If you have been emailed regarding a reset request for your password, but you haven’t requested it, as always please be ever vigilant when it comes to emails sent to you in regard to your game account,” said NCSoft in a statement. “If you didn’t request the email, do not click the link, just ignore it.”

Some sound advice for anyone who is currently playing Guild Wars 2, if you receive an email about your password then it’s best to just ignore it, do not click any links.
