Halo

The last known Easter Egg in Halo 3 has been discovered almost seven years after the game launched.

The Easter Egg in question isn’t the most amazing thing in the world, but it’s pretty sweet (in an adorable way). TeamBeyond.net discovered that if you press down on both thumbsticks during a loading screen on December 25 then you will be shown a wider shot of the Halo ring, and on the ring’s surface are the words “Happy Birthday Lauren!”

Now for a little background. Back in 2012, during a Bungie Q&A Mail Sack, senior engineer John Cable said that “there is one Easter egg in Halo 3 that I don’t think anyone has found – I stumbled across it in code a while back. It only happens on a specific day…so good luck.”

In a Q&A Mail Sack after this, former Bungie developer Adrian Perez was asked about his proudest moment, to which he replied, “Showing my wife the Easter egg I put in the Halo 3 loading screen for her – the one that nobody has found yet.”

You can check out a video of the discovery above.
