Halo 4 Beats Out Black Ops 2 As the Most Anticipated Xbox 360 Game of 2012

It appears that Halo 4 is the most anticipated game of 2012 on the Xbox 360, according to the latest Neilson report, narrowly beating out Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, but will final sales reflect this data?
“Halo 4 continues to be the most coveted title for Xbox 360 gamers, though Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has now inserted itself at the top of the list for PS3 gamers (ranking a close second on Xbox 360 as well),” the report reads. Assassin’s Creed III, Madden NFL 13 and Resident Evil 6 rounded out the top five.
Several key metrics are used by Neilson to come up with these figures, such as awareness and purchase interest. “Consumer data was derived from online interviews of 4,823 male and female active gamers (those who own at least one current generation console and actively play on and purchase games for that console), between the ages of 7 to 54. The timeframe for the data collection was June 3 to June 30, so consumer measures may shift further as marketing efforts heat up over the rest of the year,” the company stated.
Just because it is ranked higher in anticipation doesn’t mean that the final sales figures will turn out the same. I expect Black Ops 2 to come out on top once the dust settles.
