Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack Bans Now Reversed, Microsoft Comments on Mistake

Posted on December 18, 2012 AT 05:09am

Yesterday we reported on several players complaining about receiving bans from Halo 4′s multiplayer after following a Microsoft suggested workaround to download the pack. Microsoft has now confirmed that all bans have been reversed.

The workaround allowed players who owned either the War Games Season Pass or Limited Edition of the game to download the DLC for free if they were being wrongly charged for it. However, after following the steps and playing online their accounts were banned from certain aspects of Halo 4‘s multiplayer. Microsoft has since confirmed that only around 200 accounts were affected and all bans have been reversed. It released the following statement to Kotaku:

There was a situation yesterday (Sunday) in which less than 200 Halo 4 users were being incorrectly banned from accessing certain parts of the game (not banned from Xbox LIVE as a whole), and we have since resolved the issue. All players accounts impacted are working as normal.

Were you affected by this issue? Let us know in the comments below.
