Halo 4 Leaked Online, Microsoft Currently Investigating Sources
Posted on October 12, 2012 AT 02:45pm
Images and video footage of Halo 4 have been leaked online, leaving Microsoft to scramble as clips are uploaded on YouTube and various other website. But who’s responsible for the early reveal?
That’s what Microsoft is currently trying to figure out, but NeoGAF seems to be a step ahead of the curve.
Images of what’s allegedly the retail copy (two Xbox 360 discs) have been popping up on both NeoGAF and Reddit, with users posting images of their accounts with Halo 4 in their history.
If a retail copy of Halo 4 is out in the wild, it’s likely just a matter of time before the game is pirated online.
However, Microsoft will likely be banning anyone caught playing unauthorized versions of the game.
All of this is very familiar territory, as Halo 3 was leaked to thousands of players, but only played on modified Xbox systems. Taking it online resulted in several bans, so this occurrence shouldn’t be different.
