THE BUZZ: Microsoft has announced that a live action Halo 4 series will air this fall, in the run up to the game’s release.
Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn will be available through Halo Waypoint and will be aired on the run up to November 6.
The series will be split into five weekly installments, each around 15 minutes long. Forward Unto Dawn tells the story of how Master Chief inspired a young UNSC cadet who will evntually become leader of the UNSC Infinity Spacecraft.
There will be tie-ins to the game, and the series offers a look at the beginning of the war between the humans and the Covenant. More details will be revealed at Comic Con in July.
EGM’s TAKE: If you’re a Halo fan dying for more story, then you shouldn’t miss this series when it airs later in the year. For others, it’s a chance to get involved with the universe before Halo 4 launches in November, and get acquainted with the game’s back story. This is the most money that Microsoft has ever spent on a live action series, could this be a precursor for the Halo movie that fans so badly want? If demand for these episodes is high enough then they may be convinced.
