Halo 4–Microsoft Banning ‘Headless Spartan’ Cheaters
Posted on December 21, 2012 AT 03:14am

Microsoft has announced that it is aware of certain players using “headless Spartans” in Halo 4‘s multiplayer and is actively seeking them out to ban them.
An unofficial mod that only works on modified Xbox 360s is causing player’s characters to appear headless and without armor in multiplayer. Microsoft has issued a statement stating that it will ban anyone caught using this mod, and promised players that even though the characters don’t have heads their hit boxes remain unchanged–head shots still work.
“We are aware of the issue and have already taken action to identify and ban the accounts of these modders and cheaters,” said a Microsoft spokesperson. “We want players to know that while the mod makes a player’s head and armor appear to be invisible, the hit boxes are still intact, so competing players can still defeat them as usual. While the problem was very isolated, we will continue to diligently identify and take action against all offenders.”
