Microsoft is revisiting familiar territory with their newest Halo 4-themed partnership, joining up with Mountain Dew and Doritos to offer “Double XP” multiplayer matches. Because that’s so socially responsible.
Although Halo 4 isn’t out until November, people can start stocking up on snacks as early as October 15th. Specially-marked packages of Mountain Dew Game Fuel and Doritos will grant access to Double XP matches, along with codes and vouchers to win prizes.
Oh, don’t want to buy single-packs? There’s another way to rack up codes and save money.
Walmart is also selling 24-packs of Mountain Dew and large-size bags of Doritos for “Mega XP” codes, which net about 12 matches’ worth of Double XP. Moreover, special Walmart copies of Halo 4 have codes that unlock an additional 24 matches of Double XP, making a 38-match “Mega XP” package.
Given how cheap Mountain Dew and Doritos are, it’ll be worth it for players who happen to win an Xbox 360 console or an Xbox Live Gold membership. For everyone else, we predict some slight weight gain and mild stomachaches.
