Halo

Halo 5: Guardians‘ Forge mode is one of gaming’s most versatile creation tools, allowing for the recreation of many things- such as a boss from a completely different shooter.

The shooter is Destiny, and the boss is found in one of the game’s cooperative Strike missions, The Undying Mind. In the mission, Destiny players face off against the Axis Mind which is an augmented Hydra enemy from the Vex race. Unlike fellow Hydras, this boss has multiple rotating shields, making it difficult to get a clean shot. Now gamers can take on this foe in Halo 5.

The video showing off the project comes to us by way of the CupOfJoe Gaming Channel. Granted, some creative restrictions are apparent—most notably that the boss cannot move—but the final result is undeniably impressive, with appropriate scenery and even some enemy Harpies.

This recreation was made possible thanks to the AI scripting system added in the recent Halo 5 Forge update that went live in December. CupOfJoe claims he will release another video detailing how he used the system to design the project.

Nick didn’t start gaming until mid-2006. Once his parents finally allowed a console into the house, it was all uphill from there. Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808

Halo 5 and Destiny become one in this awesome Forge creation

Destiny's Vex can alter reality, which apparently means they can now cross over into Halo 5.
