The release of the Xbox One X is right around the corner, and Halo 5: Guardians is getting a big upgrade to match.
Dubbed the Overtime update, this patch gives the game a massive graphical upgrade. New 4K textures take advantage of the Xbox One X’s touted “Ultra HD” features and improved processing power.
Fans without 4K TVs aren’t left out, though. The Overtime update will also add in a new batch of content, with the Oddball and Oddball FFA multiplayer game modes making a return. This means that the Oddball skull is back, and players will find new medals for the game mode.
Players will also be able to host and play low-latency multiplayer matches through the Windows 10 Halo 5: Guardians Local Server application.
The update comes with a number of smaller tweaks and additions, including new weapon skins to represent your Halo World Championship home region, new custom game options, and a number of bug fixes. You can check out the full list on Halo Waypoint.
The update should start rolling out at 9 a.m. PT on Thursday, November 2nd.
