Dan Ayoub, studio head at 343 Industries, has announced that Halo Wars 2 has gone gold.
For those who are unaware, when a game goes gold it means that development is complete and the code has been sent to manufacturing to be printed on discs. Of course, this doesn’t include any potential day one patches that may be in the works.

Remember, an open beta for the game’s Blitz mode will begin this Friday, January 20th and run through to January 30th.
Yesterday, Microsoft and Twitter kicked off the first-ever #TwitterHaloWars. Twitter users can now play battle cards against their friends (or the computer) “in an escalating three-round war of attacks and counters” via Twitter’s DM system, with the winner getting a code for an exclusive custom vehicle skin pack for Halo Wars 2.
Halo Wars 2 launches February 21st for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. However, Ultimate Edition owners can play four days early from February 17th.
