Harebrained Schemes Merges Digital Devices, Tabletop RPGs with Golem Arcana

Posted on September 11, 2013 AT 01:20pm

Shadowrun Returns developer Harebrained Schemes has turned to Kickstarter again, this time to fund Golem Arcana, a “digitally enhanced miniatures game.”

Golem Arcana combines physical miniatures with iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. The latter are used to manage record keeping for rules, attacks, movements, et cetera. Essentially, said smartphones and tablets serve as rule book and referee. This free players up to focus on strategy and social interaction with friends. Bridging the divide between digital and physical is a specially designed “TDI” (tabletop digital interface) stylus that tracks activity on the board and sends it via bluetooth to your iOS or Android device.

Harebrained Schemes has currently raised $114,146 of their $500,000 goal, with just over a month left in their funding period. The Kickstarter campaign closes out on October 15.
