Harmonix Hiring for Next-Gen Motion Control Game

Posted on May 4, 2012 AT 09:31am

Harmonix is currently recruiting staff to work on a brand-new motion-gaming IP for the next generation of hardware.

That’s according to a series of job posts over on the developer’s website. The game in question will feature creative storylines, environments that encourage player exploration, and combat encounters.

It appears that motion gaming is here to stay, whether we like or not. Hopefully, the next generation of consoles will provide enough power for developers to move away from the on-rails experience that it currently provides; only then will more players choose to embrace motion gaming. Based on the job ads, this doesn’t sound like your typical Harmonix game—there’s no mention of music, instruments, or dancing. We’re intrigued by what that could mean.

How can motion gaming be improved? Let us know your ideas below.
