Eurocom’s Kinect focused trek though the Harry Potter franchise has a demo out exclusively for Xbox Live Gold members today. Hopefully, it’s a step up from the last Kinect-enabled titles in the series.

Dubbed Harry Potter for Kinect, the big hook with this one is the ability to put yourself into the fictional wizarding world through the titular device’s interactive camera feature.

(It’s like your favorite fan fiction come true!)

As noted by many people, your mileage will vary with the effect, as the announcement trailer made some poor girl look like a soulless monster with a rather severe case of lockjaw.

Other highlights include Quidditch games, wizard duels, and re-enactments from several key moments in the series.

Download the demo at your own risk, folks. Eurocom’s usual body of work typically involves various licensed franchises with varying degrees of quality—although their recent GoldenEye 007 games haven’t been terrible.
