Blizzard has officially revealed Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft‘s first PvE adventure, Curse of Naxxramas.
This new adventure will be available to all players and will take place in the ancient necropolis Naxxramas. Players must progress through five unique wings and take on several bosses to complete the adventure.
Progressing through this adventure will earn you new cards—30 to be exact—to use in the game. Some of these new cards include the Nurubian Egg, with a deathrattle that summons a 4/4 minion, and the Dancing Swords, which lets your opponent draw a card when it dies.
Each of the wing’s bosses will have unique hero powers, for example Heigan the Unclean will use an Eruption ability that deals two damage to your left most minion. Defeating each boss will earn you a card and beating each wing nets you a legendary card.
As well as new bosses and cards, Curse of Naxxramas also adds nine unique class challenges that will “put a difficult twist on existing encounters within the adventure and will put your Hearthstone skills with a specific class to the test.” Completing these challenges will earn you a new class-specific card.
Curse of Naxxramas will be made available over the course of five weeks—a new wing each week—with the first being free to all players. The next four wings must be purchased with either in-game gold or real money. No release date has been announced, but it will launch simultaneously across PC, Mac, and iPad.
