Blizzard has unveiled The Boomsday Project, the next expansion for its free-to-play card game Hearthstone.

“Dr. Boom has built a complex of hidden laboratories in the ever-churning Netherstorm, where he and his colorful crew of renegade researchers are hard at work on all manner of ill-advised scientific endeavors,” the developer explains.

The expansion introduces 135 new cards to the game, including nine new legendary spells, new Project cards that offer seemingly wondrous effects to both players, and Omega cards that give incredible rewards to players once they reach 10 mana crystals. A new keyword is also being introduced called Magnetic that allows players to merge Mech minions, combining their attack, health, and abilities.

Finally, The Boomsday Project introduces a new single-player experience called The Puzzle Lab. More details about this new experience will be shared closer to launch.

The Boomsday Project launches August 7th for PC and mobile. Players looking to get ahead of the curve can purchase two different bundle options from today: the 50-pack bundle that includes a free random golden class Legendary and the Mecha-Jaraxxus card back, and the 80-pack Mega Bundle includes a free golden class Legendary, a Mecha-Jaraxxus card back, and a new playable Warlock Hero—Mecha-Jaraxxus.
