A new domain registered by Quantic Dream, the makers of Heavy Rain and upcoming PS3 exclusive Beyond: Two Souls, points to their next project—and its platform—reports Kotaku.

Quantic Dream registered the domain “singularityps4.com” mid-November, it seems. This URL, as the Kotaku post points out, conforms to previous Quantic Dream URL styles (heavyrainps3.com and beyondps3.com).

Expectedly, nothing turns up at the URL right now. But Quantic Dream founder David Cage has mentioned how books by futurist Ray Kurzweil have inspired him. Ray Kurzweil has written extensively about a phenomenon known as “The Singularity,” which refers to what he believes is the inevitable emergence of technological superintelligence—AI, in other words. Perhaps, then, that phenomenon will be the subject of Quantic Dreams’ next title (after Beyond: Two Souls). For now, it’s all conjecture and theory.

As an avid fan of transhumanism, however, and someone fascinated by the idea of the technological singularity, I sure hope that’s what their game is about. “Singularity” is a pretty malleable term, though.
