Blizzard has shared a look at Diablo III‘s upcoming 2.4.3 update which will include an anniversary event, class updates, and more.
First up is The Darkening of Tristam event, which will recreate the original Diablo in Diablo III.
“An ancient evil stirs in the ruins of Old Tristram, and a mysterious portal has appeared that leads to the halls of an all-too familiar cathedral,” the developer explains. “Deep beneath the catacombs, the Dark Lord awaits any intrepid adventurer who dares to challenge him.”
The new dungeon is 16 levels deep and features the four main bosses from the first Diablo, the original music, and a new “Retrovision” graphics filter that makes the game look like the original and locks players to old-school eight-directional movement.
The update also makes changes to Greater Rifts by improving monster distribution, varying tile types on floors, and adding an additional chance to upgrade a legendary gem for players who complete a rift without dying.
Finally, update 2.4.3 makes it so leaping enemies can now be slain in mid-air, adds a new Juggernaut affix, and improves the dye system.
An exact release date for the update has not been confirmed.
