During the Jump Festa event in Tokyo, Japan, Square Enix shared some new gameplay footage of Dragon Quest XI.

The footage below opens with some exploration on horseback in the PlayStation 4 version of the game, before switching to the 3DS version and showing off its 2D/3D split-screen views. Players will also be able to switch between 3D battles and the old-school 2D battles in the 3DS version.

The publisher also released a new cinematic trailer that features a blue-haired thief called Camus, who will be one of the first allies that players encounter. You can watch the trailer below:

Dragon Quest XI is in development for PlayStation 4, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch, and is due to release in 2017 in Japan.
