Overwatch

Overwatch fans will learn about the shooter’s newest hero during Blizzard Entertainment’s Comic-Con 2016 panel at the latest.

On Blizzard’s Comic-Con scheduling page, the developer details some of the information and content its bringing to the show which includes the “story for Overwatch‘s newest hero.” Here’s the full description:

“Blizzard developers James Waugh (director of story & creative development), Michael Chu (senior designer, Overwatch), and Arnold Tsang (assistant art director, Overwatch) present a behind-the-scenes look into the creative process of developing the art, design, and story for Overwatch‘s newest hero. Q&A session moderated by Kim Phan (senior manager, esports).”

This doesn’t rule out the possibility that details on the hero could be either announced or released prior to the event, but it is good to have a latest possible date. Blizzard’s panel will take place on Thursday, July 21, between 6:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. PT in room 6A of the convention.

The upcoming hero in question is widely believed to be a support character named Sombra based on a recent tease. Before players get access to the new hero, they can hone their skills in the recently added Competitive Play mode which is now available for all systems.

Nick didn’t start gaming until mid-2006. Once his parents finally allowed a console into the house, it was all uphill from there. Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
