THE BUZZ: While the world waits for more to be revealed about Metal Gear Solid: Rising next month, that isn’t the only new Metal Gear project fans have to look forward to.
In the upcoming issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima talks about a number of series-related topics. Not only does he go into Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and how it’s the first PlayStation Metal Gear title he’s neither written nor directed, but he also talks about the existence of two major projects—Metal Gear Solid 5 and Project Ogre.
EGM’s TAKE: One interesting point to make about all of this—in its earlier days, Peace Walker was promoted as “Metal Gear Solid 5: Peace Walker”. However, in the world we live in, most companies are hesitant to make games on portables or “minor” consoles the next big chapter in a franchise. (There are of course some examples of this happening—such as Dragon Quest IX on the DS—but more often than not that’s an exception to the rule.)
Where should Metal Gear Solid 5 take the series? Who should be the main character(s)? Let us know your opinions in the comments below!
