THE BUZZ: Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has announced his intention to continue making games until the day he dies.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear series, and when Eurogamer asked Kojima if he would still be making games in another 25 years he replied:
“Honestly, I really don’t know in 25 years from now if I’ll still be making Metal Gear, or even if Konami will still be around – I really can’t say. But I can say that if I’m not dead by that time I will still be making games in some form. I don’t have any intention of retiring – until the day I die I will be making games.”
“Maybe by that time technology will be so advanced that I can make a game all by myself by using a bunch of robots,” he added.
EGM’s TAKE: Games being made by a bunch of Hideo Kojima controlled robots? Imagine the possibilities. Personally, we would hate to see the Metal gear series ever end, but we can’t imagine a Metal Gear game without some kind of input from Kojima. Hopefully he will be making games for a very long time to come.
