One of the things that Hitman games have taught me over the years is that, if you’re going to be a genetically enhanced clone who grows up to be a world-class assassin, you need to cover your tracks.
The latest Hitman 2 trailer details how some of the game’s new mechanics will let you do just that.
First off, the minimap is getting a bit of an overhaul. Unlike the previous Hitman, Hitman 2‘s minimap will actually tell you what target you’re tracking. Likewise, it will include more information about your current status, like whether someone’s suspicious or not.
In order to avoid suspicion, Hitman 2 will now indicate where security cameras are looking with a grid, making it easier to avoid accidentally stepping into one’s line of sight.
Best of all, a new picture-in-picture mechanic will actually show you in real time when one of your various misdeeds has been discovered. For example, let’s say you knock someone out and steal their clothes but forget to put them to bed in a dumpster, a picture-in-picture will pop up indicating when that body’s been discovered. This mechanic, and other new ones introduced in Hitman 2, will be available in the Hitman 2016 levels that are coming as part of the Legacy Pack.
Hitman 2 launches on November 13th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
