As part of the upcoming 2013 Summit, the 16th Annual D.I.C.E. awards will be presented. Today, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for this year’s awards, as well as the ceremony’s host.

That host will be Chris Hardwick, who is known for everything from a variety of film roles, the founding of Nerdist.com, his hosting of AMC’s Talking Dead and Web Soup, writing work for Wired Magazine and Attack of the Show, stand-up comedy, and appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Chelsea Lately, just to name a few examples.

“The D.I.C.E. Awards are VERY important to me,” Hardwick said as part of the AIAS’ press release. “I have been playing video games since there were video games. I hope there is some type of Dovahkiin Shout that will make sure I don’t mess this up. I will find one! If not, I’ll just look like a psychotic, screaming a**hole leading up to the Awards.”
