‘Leave it to Gearbox Software to plan extra DLC for two months after Borderlands 2‘s launch, just for them to deliver it five weeks earlier than planned. Why can’t more gaming companies be that ahead of schedule?
As announced just right after we closed up the news desk yesterday, the game’s new “Mechromancer” class is now available to download, for anyone who wants their own robot pal.
Fitting in with the giant robot theme, this class gives you a robo-buddy that can be upgraded through your class skill tree, and basically acts like a turret with legs and a hunger for the death of your enemies.
(Gearbox previously launched a Flash version of Gaige’s skill tree right over yonder.)
If you pre-ordered Borderlands 2, you should have a code that’ll let you hop in and grab it for the low, low price of free.
But if you weren’t an early adopter, you’ve got to pony up 800 Microsoft Points, $10, or whatever your digital equivalent happens to be at your outlet of choice. That’s the price you pay for not committing to this relationship early, folks.
