343 Industries senior producer Greg Stone has revealed the upgrades that will be made to Halo Wars 2 on Xbox One X.

According to Stone, the game will get a bump in resolution up to 4K along with support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) on Microsoft’s more powerful console. There will also be support for supersampling on 1080p screens, for players without a 4K monitor/television.

“For a real-time strategy game, having support for 4K resolution is not just a visual improvement but a strategic one,” he added. “This is because RTS players have to constantly make strategies and adjustments on the fly based on the units that they see. With 4K, you get so much more visual feedback that can actually help you improve as a player – you’ll be able to more easily discern an army composition at a glance with the increased visual fidelity, which is critical for coming up with counter strategies, recognizing key threats and more.”

As previously announced, more than 100 games will be upgraded for Xbox One X, including Titanfall 2, Quantum Break, Gears of War 4, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Halo 5: Guardians, and many more.

Xbox One X will be made available worldwide on November 7th, 2017.
