Nintendo Switch

Clever gamers are able to claim their Nintendo Switch usernames now, over a week before the console even comes out.

If you have a username that you really want to lock down, it’s not exceptionally difficult—just confusing. First, pop into the Account Settings page for your Nintendo account. Within, you should see a newly-added “User ID” section. From there, it’s as easy as hitting the edit button and plugging in your desired user name. Simple enough, yeah?

Still confused as to why there’s a new User ID section? Well, so are we. But, the easiest way to think of it, is that the new User ID is just an updated (yet separate) version of your old and familiar Nintendo Network ID. Now stop lallygagging and claim your name!

The Nintendo Switch arrives March 3rd.
