Even if you can’t get to the San Diego Comic-Con 2011, you might still appreciate some of what’s being shown there.
At the DC Comics booth will be Uncharted #1, the introductory issue to the new Uncharted comic. The story will center around Nathan Drake trying to find to legendary “Amber Room” said to be at the center of the earth, and will be written by Joshua Williamson (Superman/Batman) with art by Francesco Francavilla (Detective Comics). Covers will be done by famous comic artist Adam Hughes, and one of his covers – the one shown above – will be available as a limited-edition poster that Hughes will be signing.
Mezco Toyz will be showing off their Nathan Drake figure/statue, with pose based on the official promotional artwork for Uncharted 3. Mezco Toys will release the figure nationwide (and on their website) in the fourth quarter of this year.
Another figure that will be publicly debuted at SDCC is this Nathan Drake from the Square Enix Play Arts -Kai- line of figures, and I have to say… it looks awesome. While no release date has been set for the figure yet, Square Enix did reveal that their version of Drake will have 21 points of articulation.
Finally, the last item we’ll point out is Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth, a novel announced last year by Random House. Penned by author Chris Golden, the story will see Nathan trying to help his friend Sully uncover the truth behind a mysterious murder, one which leads to the ancient legend of the power to turn lead to gold.
