In Sony’s latest installment of their Conversations with Creators series, several inFamous: Second Son devs talk up the importance of videogame controllers and the improvements Sony has made with the DualShock 4.

“The designer has video, they have audio, they have story and dialogue—they have all these tools for communicating with the player,” Second Son lead designer Jaime Griesemer says in the video. “The player only has one tool for communicating back and engaging in the conversation, and it’s the controller. And the PS4 controller is significantly improved from previous controllers.”

The video, while very DualShock 4-centric, is not bereft of new Second Son footage and developer commentary about how they’re integrating the DualShock 4’s touchpad into the game and how they’ve improved visual fidelity and gameplay through the PS4’s next-gen tech.

InFamous: Second Son is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 4 spring 2014.
