Looks like Delsin’s real superpower is making Sony s***loads of cash.

The company today announced that the PlayStation 4–exclusive inFAMOUS: Second Son set a new record for the franchise, selling a fairly impressive 1 million copies in the nine days following its launch. That number takes into account both digital downloads and physical copies sold through to customers.

To put that figure in perspective, Sony announced last month that the PlayStation 4 had sold 6 million units worldwide. That means that somewhere between one in six and one in seven people who own a PS4 picked up Second Son at or shortly after release. Not too shabby, especially when you consider that estimates put sales of the first two games in the series at around 4.5 million combined. Sales figures like this could put inFAMOUS with Uncharted and The Last of Us among the top tier of Sony’s first-party franchises this generation.

For more on inFAMOUS: Second Son and why those million-plus gamers probably aren’t disappointed in thier purchase, check out Marc’s review.
