Another big installment in the Infinity Blade franchise will hit iOS next year, as Epic Games’ Maryland-based Impossible Studios gets ready to release Infinity Blade Dungeons for iPhone and iPad. Expect it to be a rather large success.
As reported by AllThingsD, the game has been under the hood ever since it was initially revealed at Apple March 2012 iPad event.
It’s possible that Infinity Blade Dungeons will be get a release date when the rumored iPad mini is expected to be unveiled at Apple’s upcoming Oct 23rd event.
If that’s the case, it’ll dramatically expand the reach of Impossible Studios’ game, as the RPG will be available on the iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad and the iPad mini. If that’s the case, it’s a really good investment for both Epic Games and Impossible Studios, the latter of which was built up from hiring developers that suffered during the infamous closure of 38 Studios.
Epic Game has gone on record saying that the Infinity Blade series is their most profitable series, even besting Gears of War.
Mobile development has been driving huge benefits to Epic Games’ bottom line, as Infinity Blade and Infinity Blade II have set several sales records in the mobile industry and consistently remain among the most popular games in the App Store.
