Infinity Ward Hiring for Unannounced Next-Gen Title
Posted on May 29, 2012 AT 06:40am

Modern Warfare 3 developer Infinity Ward has begun work on an unannounced game for the next-generation of consoles, according to a new job listing.
The listing is for a senior network engineer. ”Come work with the game industry’s brightest to design and implement high level network code for an exciting unannounced title for next generation console systems,” it reads. No more details about the game were offered except that the candidate needs to have an ”interest in games, preferably first person shooters.” Which isn’t really shocking information, considering Infinity Ward is the home of Call of Duty.
Given the yearly cycle of Call of Duty games it would be Infinity Ward’s turn next year, does this mean it expects the next-generation of consoles to be ready by then, or is it planning down the line to 2015? We all know the next-generation is close, we’re just waiting for Microsoft and Sony to pull the trigger, and you can bet that there will be a Call of Duty game ready to launch when they do.
What would you like to see change with a next-gen Call of Duty game? A new engine perhaps?
