Injustice

Ahead of their upcoming Watchtower stream, Injustice 2‘s version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debuted in their official gameplay trailer, and we have a few details about how they will work, thanks to a recent press release.

Players will select one of the four turtles by equipping one of their respective, iconic weapons—Leonardo’s swords, Donatello’s bo staff, Michelangelo’s nunchakus, or Raphael’s sais—in the character loadout menu. Each turtle will have their own unique move lists, character traits, and special moves, so it’s basically like getting four new characters in one. If you’re playing in tournament mode or ranked online (where character loadouts are unavailable), you will be able to select an individual turtle from the character selection screen.

However, the turtles won’t entirely go it alone. Judging from the trailer, some of the turtles’ specific specials and grabs will call in one of their brothers in an assist move of sorts, usually after meter burning. This method of including the turtles might not be as cool as being able to switch out turtles on the fly with the character trait button, but it’s still pretty cool. We’ll find out more about their specific moves when the Watchtower stream goes live on February 7th at 1 p.m. PT on NetherRealm’s Twitch channel.

The Turtles will launch on February 13th for players who own Fighter Pack 3 (or the Ultimate Edition or Ultimate Pack) and will be available as a standalone purchase on February 20th for $9.99.

Injustice 2 is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
