IO Interactive Moving Onto New IP After Hitman: Absolution
Posted on December 1, 2011 AT 06:14am
THE BUZZ: Niels Sorensen, Studio Head of IO Interactive, has announced that the studio will be moving on from the Hitman franchise, after it completes Hitman: Absolution.
Sorensen mentioned that some of the team will assist the soon to be opened Square-Enix Montreal in the creation of, “a new premium quality game” in the Hitman franchise, and the rest of the team will move onto a new IP. ”When people work on the same IP for some time, I believe that there’s a sort of creative drain,” he said. “Thankfully we managed to make sure we keep focusing on different IPs and keeping people fresh.”
“We’ve built an incubation department whose focus is work on new IP and prototypes, and all sorts of things for existing and new IP,” he added.
EGM’s TAKE: We look forward to seeing what the talented people at IO come up with next?
