Irrational Games, the studio behind BioShock and BioShock Infinite, has laid off a small number of its workforce, a representative confirmed to Kotaku.
“In an effort to streamline our processes I am sad to confirm that we let go a total of eight employees today,” the rep said. “Any studio’s greatest asset is the group of people that make up the whole, and as such it was extremely hard to make this decision and there is never a good time for this to happen. As co-workers and friends, we wish them the very best.”
These layoffs, while very unfortunate, will not affect the the BioShock Infinite DLC—”Burial at Sea”—currently in development at the studio. The first installment of “Burial at Sea” is expected to launch before year’s end.
