Is Dead Island’s Developer Creating ‘Dead World’?
Posted on November 2, 2011 AT 04:53pm
THE BUZZ: Though Dead Island was only just recently launched, the game has already become a huge hit for developer Techland, as well as a favorite among many zombie-loving game players.
So, it only makes sense that the company would want to start making plans for a follow-up title—and that might be exactly what’s taking place. According to Siliconera, Techland has filed for the trademark “Dead World” here in the United States. While that isn’t necessarily proof that sequel is in the works, I wouldn’t feel bad about putting money on that bet.
EGM’s TAKE: Though I’m not going to hold my breath for it, what I’d love to see is an MMO zombie game, where you jump into the world and simply try to see how long you could survive. Man, that is such my dream game, and what I think about when I hear the words “Dead World”. Come on Techland—do it!
