Is this Replica Gun Really Better Than Conventional Controllers for FPS Titles?

Tired of using your normal controllers to play Call of Duty, Battlefield, or any other number of FPS titles? Well how about using a realistic-looking gun instead? Surely that will spice things up a bit.

The Delta Six is an accelerometer gun controller which is due to release early next year and will set you back $89, but on the plus side it looks exactly like a real gun. I can already see the newspaper headlines now. The controller must be titled to move left and right and there are recoil and reload options available.

The gun’s creator David Kotkin believes that this piece of hardware can replace the controller in FPS titles, “This wins against a regular controller even with an Avenger adapter on it! We’re more excited about Delta Six than any other project to date.”

“The Wii and the Move tried but could not make a fun and innovative motion control for FPS games. So we had to. This is fun for adults, not for gamers younger than 21.”

The Delta Six comes in two forms, an assault rifle and an SMG. While it seems like a fun novelty it looks a lot more awkward to use effectively when compared to a traditional controller. You can check out a trailer of it in action below.

So will you be buying it or are you going to stick with a controller? Share your thoughts below.
