Super Mario

If you’ve pre-ordered Super Mario Odyssey, you can now take the final steps to make sure the game is ready to go.

The game can now be preloaded from Nintendo’s eShop, ensuring that it will be completely downloaded and ready to launch when the game finally releases in full this Friday.

Before you download the game, you’ll have to make sure you have enough space cleared on your Nintendo Switch. Super Mario Odyssey will take up 5.2GB of space, or roughly one-sixth of the Switch’s native internal memory. That’s a surprisingly small download for a game that looks so expansive. It’s alos considerably more manageable than many third-party titles, some of which, like Doom and the upcoming Resident Evil Revelations Collection require an external memory card just to install.

In other Odyssey news, the game’s theme song is proving wildly popular on iTunes, and we recently learned that one of the game’s amiibo enables Mario to make an entertaining and unexpected costume change.

Super Mario Odyssey launches this Friday, October 27th, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

Keep an eye out for our first impressions and review dropping later this week. For more info on the game, be sure to check out our complete guide to everything we know so far.
