Jak and Daxter Collection to Feature 100+ Trophies

THE BUZZ: If you’re looking forward to the upcoming Jak and Daxter Collection, and are a fan of hunting down every last trophy in the games you play, then you’re going to have your work cut out for you.

EGM’s TAKE: HD collections and remakes not only give companies the chance to bring back much-beloved classic games with overhauled visuals, but also introduce something into those games that didn’t exist in their era: Trophies.

For the upcoming Jak and Daxter Collection—which sees Naughty Dog’s three Jak and Daxter PS2 games reborn into the world of HD—players will be tasked with chasing after over 100 trophies across three games—which includes three Platinum Trophies, one for each game.

I’m absolutely terrible at earning trophies for my games; I’ve had my PS3 for years now, and I still don’t have even one Platinum Trophy. Of course, in my case, it’s because a lot of the games we play at EGM for coverage we play on company hardware using company accounts, so my personal PSN account only reflects what I play in my free time. Even then, sometimes one or two trophies will be so specific or obscure that I end up moving on to other games long before I’m able to earn them. (I’m looking at you Super Stardust HD!)

Still, for those of you who are Trophy hunters, you’ll have a lot to look forward to in this collection.

Here’s a peek at some of the trophies that will be in the Jak and Daxter Collection:

Pedal to the Metal – Destroy Metal Kor at Nest – Gold

Purple Pain – Navigate the Purple Precursor Rings – Bronze

The Super Orberator – Collect 2000 Precursor Orbs – Gold

Testosterone – Pass the Tests of Manhood – Silver

Just the Artifacts Ma’am – Find 3 Artifacts in Mountain Temple – Bronze

What’s That Smell? – Escort Men Through Sewers – Bronze

The Beast Beater – Destroy Metal Head Beasts – Bronze

Gate Crasher Masher – Defend Spargus’ Front Gate – Bronze

So, here’s a question—do you typically earn all trophies/achievements for the games you play? Or do you have a whole list of games on your profile that are far from hitting 100% completion?
