THE BUZZ: Today, the trend of updating previous-generation franchises for today’s HD consoles received its newest member.

Earlier in the day, a European ratings listing appears for “Jak & Dater Trilogy Edition”, a release for the PlayStation 3 that would no doubt bring together Naughty Dog’s popular PS2 Jak & Daxter series.

Then, just a short while ago, Game Informer received confirmation of not only the collection’s existence, but also its release in North America.

“We can confirm the Jak and Daxter Collection is coming and will have more news to share shortly,” Game Informer was told by a Sony Computer Entertainment spokesperson.

EGM’s TAKE: With all of the HD collections that have been done up to this point, it was only logical that Naughty Dog’s best-known PS2 efforts would be getting the same treatment at some point. So, great to see it finally become official!
