THE BUZZ: Nintendo announced a lot of 3DS hardware-related items late last night, including a new system color and a limited edition Fire Emblem 3DS.
EGM’s TAKE: Another 3DS system color! Man, Nintendo really is cranking those colors out. But hey, I always love more choice when it comes to system colors, so I’m all for it. This time, the color is Cobalt Blue, a darker?and some might say more sophisticated?shade of blue. If I’m not mistaken, Cobalt Blue was one of the first color variations for the original DS “Phat”.
Nintendo won’t just be offering up a standard Cobalt Blue 3DS, however?they’ll also have a special edition version, seen here, which will be part of a bundle for Fire Emblem Awakening.
The standard Cobalt Blue 3DS will hit on March 22nd for 15,000 yen; the Fire Emblem bundle for 19,800 yen on April 19th. As well, Japan will get two Monster Hunter 3G bundles (one with black 3DS + game, one with a red 3DS + game, both for 19,800 yen on Mrch 17th) and two new Super Mario 3D Land bundled (one with a white 3DS + game, one with a pink 3DS + game, both for 19,800 yen on March 17th).
As for us here in America, if I had to guess at the next color choice we’ll be getting, my bet would be on white.
