Last month, a list came out of the most popular Final Fantasy male characters according to Japanese fans. Now, we’ve gotten the list of favorite femmes from the series.

While I can’t really hate on Lightning, seeing her as #1 is a little surprising. Do Japanese fans really love her that much, or is it a case of what’s freshest in the mind getting the fondest feelings? Some have also brought up that Lightning is kind of the female equivalent to Cloud, which might be why she gets so much love.

What I do have a problem with, however, is that Fran from Final Fantasy XII is nowhere on this list. Japan, what are you doing? Seriously Japan.
