343 Industries—the studio Microsoft set up to oversee all future Halo projects—has posted a job posting that hints at what the studio might be doing next.

In a posting this week looking for a Senior Game Designer for the Franchise Creative time, it’s noted that the applicant will “work closely with 343’s Franchise Creative Director and lead the creative vision for incubation projects and other AAA Halo experiences spanning across the breadth of the studio.”

“We are looking for an experienced designer to help shape the future of the Halo franchise,” the posting continues. “Candidates should understand how to work effortlessly across the studio with various design teams to make sure 343 Industries is aligned to deliver on a quality AAA user experience.”

Under “responsibilities”, it’s noted that the applicant will “spearhead efforts to design the next wave of Halo experiences, ensuring that the final product quality meets the high expectations of Microsoft Studios first party titles.”

Also of note? Under “qualifications and skills,” it’s stated that 343 Industries is looking for someone with “excellent creative vision that can be channeled and adapted to any type of game.”

It was just earlier this month when Halo 4‘s executive producer Kiki Wolfkill said in an interview with CVG that the Halo mythos would easily work in other genres, mediums, and platforms. With Halo 4 being the first part of a new Halo trilogy, there’s no question that Halo 5 and Halo 6 will be coming at some point down the road. However, Wolfkill’s comments—combined with some of the statements made in this job post—hint that other plans for Halo could indeed already be underway.
