Joe Danger 2’s upcoming Vita port will feature three characters from Media Molecule games, developer Hello Games announced today.
In a post on the PlayStation Blogs, videogame consultant and freelance journalist Alex Wiltshire revealed that LittleBigPlanet’s Sackboy and Tearaway’s Atoi and Iota will be playable characters in the upcoming handheld port of Hello Games’ 2012 racing platformer (which originally debuted on Xbox Live Arcade September that year followed by a PSN launch for PS3 in October).
According to Wiltshire, the the team at Hello Games have gotten the Vita versions of Joe Danger Joe Danger running at 60 frames per second, and have incorporated a number of news features, including automatically downloaded ghosts to race against and online leaderboards. And to compensate for the absence of L2 and R2 buttons on the Vita, they’ve added touch controls for menus and the editor mode and doubled up on the Circle and Triangle commands so that both are trick buttons.
As for a release date, Wiltshire says they’ll be following up with those “really soon.” Both games are coming sometime this year.
